New York International Wine Competition 2020

We were thrilled last week to learn that Mr. Riggs was awarded McLaren Vale Winery of the Year at the New York International Wine Competition 2020.

What sets the New York International Wine Competition apart from other international beverage competitions is their trade only blind judging panel, and the wine industry has continued to take notice. At the wine competition held in New York City, the retail store buyer, sommelier, restaurant beverage director, hotelier, distributor and importer are the judges. These judges, whose livelihood rely upon their skill set, truly know what the consumer wants, as they receive on a daily basis the feedback from the consumer of what is good and what will sell. Over 1400 wines were submitted for tasting.

Not only did we receive such an incredible accolade, we also received the below results:

  • 2013 The Chap Shiraz/Cabernet Double Gold Medal/96 Points
  • 2018 Montepulciano Silver Medal/92 Points
  • 2018 The Gaffer Shiraz Bronze Medal/91 Points
  • 2018 JFR McLaren Vale Shiraz Bronze Medal/90 Points
